Becker sv 500-1 side channel blower

Becker SV 500/1 7.5kW Side Channel Blower

The Becker SV 500/1 7.5kW is the higher-differential fixed-speed configuration of the SV 500/1 single-stage side channel blower, delivering 510 m³/h at 50 Hz with maximum relative vacuum of -355 mbar and maximum positive pressure of +435 mbar.

At 60 Hz, the corresponding 9kW motor increases nominal capacity to 610 m³/h, with maximum relative vacuum of -370 mbar and maximum positive pressure of +405 mbar.

Its combination of substantial airflow and strong differential pressure makes this version particularly suitable for demanding vacuum handling, fixing, pneumatic conveying, blast air, process air and industrial systems with greater flow resistance.

The non-contact side channel principle provides oil-free airflow without sliding compression vanes. Vacuum Pumps UK can assist with Becker blower supply, replacement identification, system selection, servicing, repair and accessories.

Description

Becker SV 500/1 7.5kW Side Channel Blower

The Becker SV 500/1 7.5kW combines the high airflow of the SV 500/1 platform with its strongest fixed-speed single-stage vacuum and positive-pressure performance.

At 50 Hz the blower delivers 510 m³/h, maximum relative vacuum of -355 mbar and maximum positive pressure of +435 mbar. At 60 Hz, the 9kW configuration increases nominal flow to 610 m³/h and provides -370 mbar vacuum or +405 mbar pressure.

These higher differential limits make the 7.5kW version particularly relevant where filters, tooling, pipework or the process itself imposes greater resistance on the airflow.

Higher Differential from a Single-Stage Blower

The 7.5kW SV 500/1 is designed for duties where the required airflow must be maintained against greater resistance. Its 510 m³/h nominal 50 Hz capacity is shared with the smaller SV 500/1 motor versions, but the available differential is considerably higher.

Maximum positive pressure reaches +435 mbar at 50 Hz, while maximum relative vacuum is -355 mbar. This extends the range of systems in which the single-stage SV 500/1 can be considered.

The blower develops this pressure difference aerodynamically. The rotating impeller transfers energy repeatedly to the air circulating through the side channel, without physical contact between the principal air-moving components.

No lubricating oil is required within the compression chamber. For industrial users this provides clean airflow while avoiding the routine replacement of carbon vanes found in a dry rotary vane pump.

The larger motor should not, however, be treated simply as a way of obtaining more free-air capacity. Its main advantage is the ability to operate further along the performance curve as system vacuum or pressure increases.

SV 500/1 7.5kW Operating Specifications

At 60 Hz the motor rating becomes 9kW and nominal airflow increases to 610 m³/h. Interestingly, maximum vacuum increases to -370 mbar while maximum positive pressure is +405 mbar, illustrating why the 50 and 60 Hz data should be considered separately.

50 Hz 510 m³/h -355 mbar +435 mbar 7.5kW 75.5 kg
60 Hz 610 m³/h -370 mbar +405 mbar 9kW 75.5 kg

Performance Advantages of the 7.5kW Version

+435 mbar Pressure

Strong positive-pressure capability for systems where air must overcome greater downstream resistance.

-355 mbar Vacuum

Provides increased suction differential for demanding vacuum handling, fixing and transfer duties.

510 m³/h Nominal Flow

Combines the SV 500 family’s substantial air volume with the strongest 50 Hz fixed-speed motor configuration.

Oil-Free Air Path

No lubricating oil is required in the compression chamber, helping maintain clean process airflow.

Non-Contact Compression

The impeller and side channel generate the pressure difference without sliding compression components.

Integrated Silencing

Inlet and discharge silencers are incorporated into the blower construction to assist installation and sound management.

Applications with Greater System Resistance

The higher available differential makes this SV 500/1 configuration particularly relevant where the air path contains greater restriction or the process requires stronger suction or discharge pressure.

High Differential Requires Correct Selection

The maximum vacuum and pressure figures define the blower’s operating limits; they should not be treated as the normal duty point for every installation.

For a new application, Vacuum Pumps UK can consider the required airflow at the actual working vacuum or pressure. Pipe diameter, filters, valves, silencers and process restrictions can all influence the final operating point.

For replacement equipment, send us the SV model, motor details, voltage and frequency. A photograph of the complete nameplate is preferable where available.

Send us your SV 500/1 details for assistance.

Accessories for the SV 500/1 7.5kW

Relief protection and correctly sized pipework become particularly important where a blower is capable of developing a higher differential.

Inlet Filters

Protect the blower from airborne contamination while allowing sufficient airflow for the application.

Vacuum Relief Valves

Can limit excessive inlet differential if airflow becomes restricted during vacuum operation.

Pressure Relief Valves

Help protect the blower if downstream restriction causes pressure to rise beyond the intended operating point.

Installation Accessories

Flexible connectors, non-return valves, additional silencers and suitable pipework fittings can complete the installation.

Technical Support, Service and Repair

Higher-differential installations should be checked carefully if operating conditions change. A blocked filter, restricted line or closed valve can increase blower load and temperature even when there is no internal mechanical fault.

Vacuum Pumps UK can assist with fault diagnosis and workshop inspection where an SV blower develops abnormal noise, vibration, temperature or reduced performance.

Becker SV 500/1 7.5kW FAQs

What is the airflow of the SV 500/1 7.5kW?

Nominal airflow is 510 m³/h at 50 Hz and 610 m³/h at 60 Hz.

What maximum vacuum is available?

The maximum relative vacuum is -355 mbar at 50 Hz and -370 mbar at 60 Hz.

What maximum positive pressure can it produce?

Maximum relative pressure is +435 mbar at 50 Hz and +405 mbar at 60 Hz.

What is the 60 Hz motor size?

The corresponding 60 Hz motor rating is 9kW.

Does 7.5kW give more nominal flow than the 4kW SV 500/1?

No. Both are rated at 510 m³/h nominal capacity at 50 Hz. The larger motor principally provides the ability to operate against a greater vacuum or pressure differential.

Is this a two-stage blower?

No. The SV 500/1 is a single-stage side channel blower. Becker’s /2 models use a different double-stage arrangement.

Does it require lubricating oil?

No lubricating oil is required within the compression chamber.

Can VPUK help determine whether I need the 4kW, 5.5kW or 7.5kW version?

Yes. For an existing unit, send the nameplate details. For a new application, provide the required airflow and normal operating vacuum or pressure.
