Becker SV8.190/2 1.5kW Side Channel Blower
The Becker SV8.190/2 is a two-stage regenerative blower providing 98 m³/h nominal capacity with closely balanced vacuum and pressure performance of -325 mbar and +320 mbar.
With a 1.5kW motor at 50 Hz, the SV8.190/2 offers greater airflow than the smaller SV8.130/2 while maintaining useful differential on both sides of atmospheric pressure. Its performance is particularly well suited to machinery that requires moderate airflow rather than the higher volumes of larger industrial side channel blowers.
The compression mechanism operates without carbon vanes and introduces no lubricating oil into the process-air chamber.
Vacuum Pumps UK provides Becker blower supply, technical support, service and repair.

Balanced Two-Stage Performance for Smaller Machinery
The SV8.190/2 combines a nominal 98 m³/h airflow with almost symmetrical vacuum and pressure capability. Maximum relative vacuum is -325 mbar while maximum relative positive pressure is +320 mbar.
The small difference between these figures gives the model a more balanced performance profile than the SV8.130/2. It can therefore be considered for machinery operating on either vacuum or positive pressure without one side of its specification overwhelmingly defining the blower.
At 98 m³/h, the available nominal airflow also places it between very small process blowers and higher-capacity industrial models. Applications that require moderate continuous airflow, rather than several hundred cubic metres per hour, are therefore a natural area for this configuration.
The two-stage impeller design develops differential by repeatedly transferring energy to the air through the regenerative side channel. This takes place without sliding vanes contacting the compression chamber.
For vacuum duties, the -325 mbar maximum differential can support handling, extraction and machine suction applications. On the discharge side, +320 mbar provides useful capability for blowing, drying and process-air systems.
Technical Data – Becker SV8.190/2
The 50 Hz 1.5kW configuration is listed with 98 m³/h nominal capacity, -325 mbar maximum relative vacuum and +320 mbar maximum relative pressure.
| Model | Stage | Nominal Capacity | Maximum Vacuum | Maximum Pressure | Motor Power |
| SV8.190/2 | Two Stage | 98 m³/h | -325 mbar | +320 mbar | 1.5kW |
The actual operating airflow is determined by the differential pressure imposed by the installation, so nominal capacity and maximum differential should not be interpreted as simultaneous operating values.
SV8.190/2 Operating Characteristics
98 m³/h Capacity
Moderate airflow suited to smaller machinery and industrial process systems.
-325 mbar Vacuum
Provides useful suction differential for vacuum handling and extraction.
+320 mbar Pressure
Closely matches the vacuum capability, providing a balanced performance range.
Two-Stage Design
Two regenerative compression stages allow useful differential from a relatively compact blower.
1.5kW Motor
A modest drive rating for the available vacuum and pressure capability.
Oil-Free Air Path
The regenerative compression process does not require oil within the process-air chamber.
Industrial Applications
The near-balanced vacuum and pressure figures make the SV8.190/2 useful across a broad range of smaller industrial air duties, subject to confirming the required operating point.
› Packaging equipment
› Printing machinery
› Extraction applications
› Drying and cooling
› Process-air delivery
› Water aeration
Replacing an Older SV8.190/2
An older SV8.190/2 may be installed within machinery where the blower itself is only one component of a larger system. Understanding what the original unit is doing can therefore be just as important as identifying the model number.
When contacting us, provide clear photographs of the blower, its identification plate, motor nameplate and the surrounding installation where possible. Tell us whether the blower is being used for suction or positive pressure and describe the process it serves.
These details allow us to consider the required performance as well as mechanical and electrical aspects of a replacement.
System Components and Accessories
Correctly selected accessories help maintain blower performance and protect the unit from adverse operating conditions.
Inlet Filters
Clean filtration protects the blower while avoiding unnecessary suction restriction.
Relief Protection
Vacuum or pressure relief can limit excessive differential if process conditions change.
Noise Control
Inlet and discharge silencers can be incorporated where acoustic reduction is required.
Pipework
Appropriate pipe diameter and fittings help minimise unwanted restriction and pressure loss.
SV8.190/2 Service, Inspection and Repair
Long-serving side channel blowers may eventually develop bearing noise, vibration or other signs of mechanical wear. Reduced machine performance can also result from filtration or system restrictions rather than an internal blower fault.
For this reason, changes in operating noise, temperature or airflow should be considered in the context of the complete installation.
Vacuum Pumps UK can inspect and repair Becker side channel blowers in our workshop and provide technical support for existing installations.
Workshop Inspection
Assessment of the blower and its mechanical condition before repair.
Service & Repair
Support for existing Becker blowers showing wear or performance problems.
Parts Supply
Becker filters and replacement components can also be sourced through VacAir Superstore.
