DVP CPA Triplex H Medical Vacuum Systems
DVP CPA Triplex H systems combine three oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps, a PLC control panel, medical alarm functions and a vacuum receiver into a complete central medical vacuum system for hospital and healthcare use.
The range provides nominal capacities from 75 to 915 m³/h and has been developed in accordance with the requirements of EN ISO 7396-1 for medical gas pipeline systems.
Automatic pump sequencing allows the system to match operating capacity to hospital vacuum demand, while dedicated alarm and emergency-control functions support continuity of supply during peak demand, maintenance or an individual pump fault.
Vacuum Pumps UK is the UK & Ireland Master Agent for DVP Vacuum Technology.

CPA Triplex H Medical System Overview
A central medical vacuum system supplies vacuum to terminal units and connected medical equipment from one dedicated plant. The CPA Triplex H is intended for hospital and healthcare installations where a stable, monitored and dependable vacuum source is required.
The DVP CPA Triplex H range uses three LC oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps, a vacuum receiver, inlet filtration, individual isolation valves, pressure monitoring and a dedicated PLC control panel. The controller monitors system pressure and automatically starts or stops pumps according to demand.
This arrangement provides a stable medical vacuum supply, controlled pump operation, emergency support, reduced unnecessary running hours and the ability to isolate an individual pump for planned maintenance.
DVP CPA Triplex H Medical System Range
The table below shows the standard CPA Triplex H medical vacuum configurations. Each system combines three DVP LC oil lubricated rotary vane pumps with a vacuum receiver, medical monitoring functions and PLC control.
Final selection should be based on hospital vacuum demand, peak simultaneous use, required standby capacity, receiver volume, medical pipeline design, alarm requirements, plant-room access and future expansion.

How a CPA Triplex H Medical System Works
Vacuum Receiver
The welded vacuum receiver provides stored capacity and helps smooth changes in demand from the hospital medical vacuum pipeline.
PLC Pressure Control
An absolute pressure sensor monitors the vacuum level in the receiver and communicates continuously with the PLC control panel.
Automatic Pump Staging
The controller starts additional pumps as medical vacuum demand rises and switches them off when the required pressure can be maintained with fewer pumps.
Duty Rotation
Pump operation is managed automatically so running hours and mechanical wear can be distributed across the three pumps.
Why Use Three Pumps in a Medical Vacuum System?
Lower Energy Use
During periods of reduced hospital demand, the system can operate only the number of pumps required instead of running all three pumps continuously.
Built-In Standby Capacity
An individual pump can be isolated using its suction valve while the remaining pumps stay available to support the medical vacuum supply, subject to the selected capacity and current demand.
Even Running Hours
Automatic pump management helps prevent one pump from carrying the complete workload and supports more balanced servicing across the installation.
Better Peak-Demand Response
Additional pumps are brought online automatically when hospital vacuum demand increases.
Designed to Protect Medical Vacuum Availability
In a hospital, continuity of the medical vacuum supply is critical. A correctly selected multi-pump system provides operating resilience, monitored pressure and automatic response to changing demand.
If one pump requires an oil change, routine service or repair, it can be isolated using its individual inlet valve. The control system can then call on the remaining pumps, provided their capacity is sufficient for the current hospital vacuum demand.
Integrated non-return valves help retain vacuum in the receiver when individual pumps stop, while isolation valves allow maintenance without unnecessarily opening the complete medical vacuum system.
Standby performance depends on selected system capacity, hospital demand and the required medical vacuum design criteria, so resilience must be considered during initial system selection.
Medical PLC Control, Alarms and Remote Monitoring
The CPA Triplex H control system automatically manages pump operation according to medical vacuum demand and provides hospital engineering teams with clear information about system condition, alarms and performance.

Bespoke Medical Vacuum System Design
The standard CPA Triplex H range provides a comprehensive selection of three-pump medical vacuum systems, but hospital plant rooms do not always suit a standard catalogue arrangement.
Vacuum Pumps UK can assist with bespoke medical vacuum systems configured around available plant-room space, required capacity, receiver volume, maintenance access, control-panel position and future expansion requirements.
Custom Layouts
Pump frames, receiver position, control-panel location and service access can be arranged around the available hospital plant-room space.
Receiver Selection
Alternative receiver arrangements can be considered where additional stored vacuum or a different physical layout is required.
Pump Configuration
The number and size of pumps can be selected to provide the required medical vacuum capacity, standby resilience and planned expansion.
Control Integration
PLC functions can be considered alongside remote monitoring, alarm outputs, building-management interfaces and hospital engineering requirements.
Bespoke Vacuum System Design

Engineered Around Your Available Plant Room
Every hospital plant room presents different challenges. Available floor space, ceiling height, maintenance access, existing pipework and future expansion all influence the final system layout.
Before manufacture, Vacuum Pumps UK can develop a bespoke system concept showing how the pumps, receiver, control panel and associated equipment can be arranged within the available installation footprint. This allows the proposed layout to be reviewed and refined before fabrication begins.
Whether adapting a standard DVP CPA Triplex H package or engineering a completely bespoke arrangement, our objective is to maximise service accessibility, maintain system resilience and make the most efficient use of the available space.
Every bespoke system is designed to suit the customer’s installation requirements, providing a practical solution rather than forcing the plant room to fit a standard catalogue layout.

CPA Triplex H Medical Vacuum FAQs
What is a DVP CPA Triplex H medical vacuum system?
It is a complete central medical vacuum system combining three DVP LC oil lubricated rotary vane pumps, a vacuum receiver, filtration, isolation valves, medical pressure monitoring, alarm functions and intelligent PLC control.
Why are three vacuum pumps used in the CPA Triplex H?
Three pumps allow capacity to be staged according to hospital demand and enable standby resilience, maintenance isolation and emergency operating support to be incorporated into the medical vacuum plant.
Does the medical system run all three pumps continuously?
No. The PLC starts and stops pumps according to medical vacuum demand and the selected control parameters.
Can one pump be serviced while the medical system remains available?
Each pump has an isolation valve and non-return valve. Whether the required medical vacuum supply can be maintained with one pump isolated depends on the selected capacity, hospital demand and system design.
Can Vacuum Pumps UK supply a bespoke hospital plant-room layout?
Yes. Bespoke layouts can be considered where a standard CPA Triplex H arrangement does not suit the available plant-room space, receiver position, access requirements, capacity or future hospital expansion.
Can Vacuum Pumps UK support system selection and after-sales requirements?
Yes. Vacuum Pumps UK can assist with technical selection, medical system configuration and bespoke layout planning, while servicing and repairs are available through our sister company VacAir Superstore.
