PA155 & PA315 Rotary Claw Pump

DVP PA155 / PA315
Claw Vacuum Pumps
Nominal capacity:
155 – 300 m3ph

The DVP PA Series (PA 155 & PA 315) features heavy-duty dry-running vacuum claw pumps engineered to deliver 100% oil-free vacuum, high volumetric efficiency, and non-contact operation for long-term reliability and low ownership costs.

Operating on non-contact positive displacement, two synchronized claw-shaped rotors rotate in opposite directions within a precision compression chamber. The suction chamber remains entirely dry and oil-free, while the timing gears operate in isolated oil sumps separated by durable seals. Eliminating internal friction drastically reduces wear, maintenance frequency, and energy consumption.

Standard features include an adjustable inlet fitting, an exhaust silencer, model-specific vacuum regulating valves (150–500 mbar Abs. for PA 155; 200–500 mbar Abs. for PA 315), and anti-vibration shock mounts. Delivering nominal capacities from 155 to 300 m³/h (109.6 to 176.7 CFM), the PA series is ideal for demanding industrial vacuum operations.

DVP PA Series Overview

DVP PA Series claw vacuum pumps operate using non-contact positive displacement. Gas enters through an adjustable inlet fitting and is moved to the discharge port by two claw-shaped rotors spinning in opposite directions inside a molded chamber. Gear-driven synchronisation ensures the rotors never make physical contact with each other or the housing casing, eliminating internal mechanical friction, rubbing wear, and carbon particle generation.

The synchronisation gears run in sealed oil compartments separated from the main vacuum chamber by shaft gaskets. This isolates process air from oil vapor, ensuring clean, dry vacuum performance while maintaining smooth mechanical drive delivery.

Factory-installed hardware includes an adjustable inlet fitting, an exhaust silencer to keep ambient noise low, robust rubber shock mounts, and an integrated vacuum regulating valve (150–500 mbar Abs. for PA 155; 200–500 mbar Abs. for PA 315) to maintain steady operating pressure under varying load conditions.

Why Choose DVP PA Vacuum Claw Pumps?

Unlike dry rotary vane pumps that rely on consumable graphite vanes that gradually wear down and produce carbon dust, claw technology operates non-contact. The claw rotors revolve inside the casing without touching, ensuring that pumping capacity stays constant year after year without efficiency degradation.

With no sliding friction inside the chamber, operating temperatures stay controlled, power consumption remains low, and service intervals are extended primarily to gearbox oil changes and filter replacements.

Vacuum Pumps UK backs the PA series with complete UK technical support, original DVP spare parts, inlet filters, system accessories, and fast overhaul services.

DVP PA Series Frequently Asked Questions

How does a dry claw vacuum pump work?

DVP PA claw pumps feature two synchronised claw-shaped rotors that rotate in opposite directions inside a chamber without making contact. Gas is drawn through the inlet, trapped between the claws, compressed, and expelled through the exhaust outlet without internal friction or oil contamination.

What nominal capacities are available in the PA range?

The PA 155 offers 155 m³/h at 50Hz (186 m³/h / 109.6 CFM at 60Hz). The PA 315 delivers 250 m³/h at 50Hz and up to 300 m³/h (176.7 CFM) at 60Hz.

Are DVP PA claw pumps completely oil-free?

Yes, the vacuum compression chamber is 100% dry and oil-free. Gear oil is restricted to isolated gearbox housings separated from the air pathway by high-performance shaft seals.

What vacuum levels can the PA series achieve?

The PA 155 includes a vacuum regulating valve covering 150 to 500 mbar Abs., while the PA 315 features a regulating valve covering 200 to 500 mbar Abs.

Why choose a claw pump over a dry rotary vane pump for CNC routing?

Claw pumps maintain consistent suction capacity over time because non-contact rotors do not wear out. Dry rotary vane pumps suffer vane wear that degrades airflow over time and requires periodic carbon vane replacement.

What standard accessories come fitted on DVP PA vacuum pumps?

Standard accessories include an adjustable inlet fitting, an exhaust silencer, rubber anti-vibration shock mounts, and an integrated vacuum regulating valve.

Can a DVP PA unit replace a Busch Mink or Elmo Rietschle claw pump?

Yes. DVP PA pumps serve as direct drop-in retrofits for Busch Mink (MM/MINK series) and Elmo Rietschle (C-VLR series) claw pumps. Contact Vacuum Pumps UK to confirm dimensional alignment.

Where can I get spare parts and repair service in the UK?

Vacuum Pumps UK holds extensive UK stock of DVP original spare parts, while complete repair, timing synchronisation, and overhaul services are handled by our dedicated service provider, VacAir Superstore.
