Vacuum Pump Systems
Nominal capacity:
410 – 915 m3/h

The DVP XC405, XC605 and XC905 are modular central vacuum systems combining two or three oil lubricated rotary vane pumps for food packaging, food processing and high-capacity industrial vacuum applications.

With nominal capacities from 410 to 915 m³/h and an ultimate vacuum of 0.5 mbar absolute, the XC range provides an alternative to one large vacuum pump. Description

DVP XC405, XC605 & XC905 Central Vacuum Systems

The DVP XC405, XC605 and XC905 are modular oil lubricated rotary vane central vacuum systems designed for production facilities requiring high pumping capacity, dependable operation and improved system resilience.

Each XC system combines two or three DVP rotary vane pumps under PLC control, allowing pumping capacity to be matched more closely to actual demand while helping reduce energy use, maintenance disruption and dependence on one large single-pump unit.

Vacuum Pumps UK is the UK & Ireland Master Agent for DVP Vacuum Technology.

DVP XC Central Vacuum System Overview

The DVP XC range provides a modular alternative to installing one large high-capacity vacuum pump. Each system combines two or three DVP oil lubricated rotary vane pumps to provide a total nominal capacity between 410 and 915 m³/h.

The individual pumps can be brought into operation according to vacuum demand. Where full capacity is not required, the system can operate with fewer pumps, helping reduce unnecessary power consumption and running hours.

The modular design also improves production resilience. Routine maintenance can be carried out on one pump while the remaining pumps continue to provide vacuum, subject to the available standby capacity and process demand.

XC systems are suitable for continuous operation between 400 and 0.5 mbar absolute.

XC405, XC605 and XC905 Comparison

All three systems share the same modular operating principle. The correct model depends on the required system capacity, production demand and level of operational resilience required.

DVP XC405

Pump configuration: Two LC205 pumps.

Nominal capacity: 410 m³/h.

Ultimate vacuum: 0.5 mbar absolute.

Water-vapour capacity: 7 kg/h.

Motor power: 2 × 5.5 kW.

Suitable for medium-capacity central vacuum duties requiring modular operation and two-pump resilience.

DVP XC605

Pump configuration: Two LC305 IE3 pumps.

Nominal capacity: 610 m³/h.

Ultimate vacuum: 0.5 mbar absolute.

Water-vapour capacity: 10 kg/h.

Motor power: 2 × 7.5 kW.

Suitable for higher production demand where two larger pumps provide increased system capacity.

DVP XC905

Pump configuration: Three LC305 IE3 pumps.

Nominal capacity: 915 m³/h.

Ultimate vacuum: 0.5 mbar absolute.

Water-vapour capacity: 15 kg/h.

Motor power: 3 × 7.5 kW.

Suitable for larger central systems requiring the highest capacity and greater flexibility across three pumps.

Modular Operation and Energy Management

A single large vacuum pump normally operates as one complete unit, even when the process requires only part of its available capacity.

An XC system can operate one, two or three pumps according to demand. This allows the installed pumping capacity to be used more efficiently and can reduce power consumption during periods of lower production demand.

Sharing running hours between pumps can also help balance wear and support planned maintenance scheduling.

Reduced Production Risk

A central vacuum system based on one large pump creates a single point of failure. If that pump stops, the complete production vacuum supply may be lost.

The modular XC design allows one pump to be isolated for servicing while the remaining pumps continue to operate, provided they can supply the current production demand.

This can help reduce maintenance-related shutdowns and improve the resilience of food packaging and processing operations where vacuum availability is critical.

PLC Control and System Monitoring

The XC control panel provides centralised operation and protection for the individual pumps.

The PLC arrangement includes thermal protection, a general off switch, individual pump controls and an hour counter. Monitoring the running hours helps operators plan servicing and balance pump usage across the system.

The exact control strategy and system sequencing should be configured according to the production requirement and installation.

Typical Applications

DVP XC systems are primarily designed for food packaging and processing facilities requiring a shared central vacuum supply.

› Vacuum packaging lines

› Thermoforming packaging machinery

› Chamber vacuum packaging systems

› Multiple packaging machines

› Centralised food-factory vacuum

› Food processing equipment

› Filling and sealing machinery

› High-capacity production lines

› Production facilities with variable demand

› Processes requiring planned redundancy

Why Choose a DVP XC Central Vacuum System?

The XC range is a strong alternative to one large vacuum pump where a production facility requires high capacity, variable demand and the ability to maintain the system with less disruption.

Modular pump operation can reduce unnecessary power use, distribute running hours and help maintain production if one pump is temporarily unavailable.

Vacuum Pumps UK can support XC systems with application assessment, system selection, installation advice, service support, accessories, spare parts and technical assistance.

Key XC System Features

Modular Pump Capacity

Two or three pumps allow the system to respond more efficiently to changing production demand.

Maintenance Flexibility

One pump can potentially be isolated for maintenance while the remaining pumps continue supplying vacuum.

PLC Control

Central controls, thermal protection and hour monitoring support reliable operation and planned servicing.

Inlet Filtration

Inlet filters and a clogged-filter gauge help protect the pumps and indicate when filter attention is required.

Single Large Pump or XC System?

A single large pump may offer a simple installation where vacuum demand remains consistent and production can tolerate shutdowns for servicing.

An XC system may be more suitable where demand varies throughout the day, energy use at partial load is important or production needs to continue while one pump is being maintained.

The best solution depends on the required capacity, operating pressure, production profile, standby requirement, pipework and available installation space.

Our technical team can compare a single-pump solution with the XC405, XC605 and XC905 before making a recommendation.

Central Vacuum System Selection

How Much Capacity Is Required?

We can calculate the combined demand from the connected machines and recommend the nearest suitable XC capacity.

Is Standby Capacity Needed?

Where production must continue during servicing or a pump fault, sufficient spare capacity should be included in the system design.

Does Demand Vary?

Modular operation is particularly useful where the number of machines running changes between shifts or production schedules.

Replacing an Existing System?

Send us the existing pump details, system pressure and connected machine demand and we will advise the nearest suitable DVP option.

Not Sure Which XC System You Need?

Tell us how many machines will be connected, their individual vacuum requirements, the normal operating pressure and whether standby capacity is required.

We can compare the XC405, XC605 and XC905 and recommend the most appropriate central vacuum system.

Send us details of your existing system or proposed installation.

Filters, Oil, Service and Support

Inlet Filters

XC systems include inlet filtration and a clogged-filter indicator to help protect the vacuum pumps.
