The DVP SA3 Has Been Discontinued

The DVP SA3 is no longer included in the current DVP production range. However, discontinuation does not necessarily mean that an existing pump must immediately be replaced.

Depending upon its condition, an SA3 may continue to be supported with replacement vanes, service parts, service kits and workshop repair. Parts availability should be checked against the complete model and serial number before work is started.

The nearest current DVP dry-running rotary vane alternative is the DVP SC5. It provides increased capacity while retaining the same stated ultimate vacuum of 120 mbar absolute.

The SC5 should not automatically be treated as a direct drop-in replacement. Overall dimensions, mounting points, pipe connection, electrical supply, operating duty and available installation space should be confirmed first.

DVP SA3 Overview

The DVP SA3 was a small industrial dry-running rotary vane vacuum pump designed to provide oil-free vacuum from a compact and lightweight package.

The pump used a monoblock design in which the rotor was assembled directly onto the motor shaft. This reduced the number of separate drive components and helped keep the overall dimensions and weight low.

The main pump components were manufactured largely from lightweight alloys, allowing the SA3 to be installed inside machinery where available space was limited, provided that adequate ventilation remained available around the pump.

The SA3 provided a nominal inlet capacity of 3 m³/h at 50Hz and 3.3 m³/h at 60Hz. Its stated ultimate vacuum was 120 mbar absolute.

An outlet silencer was included as standard. Single-phase versions also incorporated a 130°C thermal protector.

The SA3 could additionally be used as a low-pressure compressor, although the operating requirements and permitted pressure would need to be confirmed before using an existing pump in this way.
