Becker VTLF 2.200 Overview
The VTLF 2.200 is a large dry-running rotary vane pump designed to provide substantial oil-free airflow for production machinery and vacuum hold-down applications.
Its combination of high airflow and dry operation makes it suitable for vacuum beds, suction systems and machinery where oil in the pumping chamber is undesirable.
Unlike oil lubricated rotary vane pumps, the VTLF uses self-lubricating carbon vanes and does not require oil in the pumping chamber. This makes it suitable for applications where clean, dry vacuum is important.
Carbon vanes remain a normal wear component and should be inspected at suitable service intervals. Running a large dry vane pump with excessively worn vanes can lead to reduced output and costly internal damage.
Vacuum Pumps UK can assist with new pump supply, while our sister company VacAir Superstore provides specialist Becker service, vanes, filters, service kits and workshop overhaul support.

Becker VTLF 2.200 Pump Features
Dry Running Rotary Vane
Self-lubricating carbon vanes provide oil-free vacuum generation without process oil inside the pumping chamber.
Continuous Industrial Duty
Becker VTLF 2.200 is designed for continuous operation when correctly selected, installed and maintained.
High Airflow
The pump is intended for industrial duties where sustained airflow is more important than very deep vacuum.
Oil-Free Pumping Chamber
Dry vane technology avoids oil contamination from the pumping chamber and simplifies many production applications.
Serviceable Construction
Carbon vanes, filters, bearings and other wear components can be inspected and replaced as part of planned maintenance.
Industrial Applications
Common uses include woodworking, packaging, printing, plastics, material handling and general production machinery.
Typical Becker VTLF 2.200 Applications
Applications vary by machine design and operating conditions, but the Becker VTLF 2.200 is commonly found on industrial duties requiring high airflow and oil-free vacuum.
› CNC woodworking and vacuum hold-down
› Packaging machinery
› Printing and paper handling
› Vacuum fixing and clamping
› Plastics processing
› Pneumatic conveying
› Pick-and-place systems
› Material handling
› Evacuation and extraction
› General industrial vacuum

DVP VB315
315 m³/h dry claw vacuum pump
Alternative Pump Technology
Consider the DVP VB315 Claw Pump
Where an exact Becker replacement is not essential, the DVP VB315 claw vacuum pump can be considered as an alternative to the Becker VTLF 2.200.
The VB315 provides substantially more pumping capacity than the VTLF 2.200, so it is not a like-for-like capacity replacement. It can, however, be a strong option where the machine or system can make use of the additional airflow and the aim is to move away from large carbon-vane pump maintenance.
The VB315 is rated at 315 m³/h at 50Hz and 380 m³/h at 60Hz, with a stated maximum vacuum of 150 mbar absolute. Its two contact-free claw rotors operate without carbon vanes rubbing against the cylinder.
For many CNC woodworking and high-leakage vacuum-bed applications, the additional air volume can be useful because the system must continually overcome leakage through spoil boards, porous panels and open zones.
The pumping chamber remains dry and oil free. Lubrication is confined to the synchronising gearbox, so routine maintenance is generally centred around gearbox oil changes, filters and inspection rather than scheduled carbon-vane replacement.
The existing machine duty, required airflow, operating vacuum, pipework, motor supply, physical installation space and control arrangements must be checked before converting from rotary vane to claw technology.
Vacuum Pumps UK is the UK and Ireland Master Agent for DVP Vacuum Technology.
Becker VTLF 2.200 and DVP VB315 Comparison
The figures below show the principal differences between the existing dry vane pump and the DVP claw option. The VB315 should be selected around the actual application rather than treated as a dimensional drop-in replacement.
| Specification | Becker VTLF 2.200 | DVP VB315 |
| Pump Technology | Dry running rotary vane | Dry contact-free claw |
| Nominal Capacity 50Hz | 178 m³/h | 315 m³/h |
| Nominal Capacity 60Hz | 218 m³/h | 380 m³/h |
| Maximum Vacuum | 200 mbar absolute | 150 mbar absolute |
| Motor Power 50Hz | 4.0 kW | 5.5 kW |
| Motor Power 60Hz | 4.8 kW | 6.6 kW |
| Carbon Vanes | Wear component | None in pumping chamber |
Important: Changing pump technology requires an application check. Capacity alone does not determine suitability.
Why Consider a Claw Pump?
No Carbon Vanes
Contact-free claw rotors remove the large carbon vanes that are a normal wear component in a dry rotary vane pump.
Reduced Routine Wear
Routine servicing is generally reduced because there are no vanes rubbing continuously against the pumping chamber.
Dry Pumping Chamber
The pumping chamber remains oil free, while gearbox lubrication is kept separate from the process air.
