DVP CPA Simplex Simplex Vacuum Systems
DVP CPA Simplex systems combine one oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pump, a PLC control panel and a horizontal vacuum receiver into a complete packaged vacuum source for smaller centralised systems and individual production areas.
The range provides nominal capacities from 25 to 305 m³/h and can supply one or more connected machines where a single pump provides sufficient capacity.
Automatic PLC pressure control starts and stops the pump according to receiver pressure. The receiver provides stored vacuum capacity, helps accommodate short demand peaks and can reduce unnecessary continuous running.

CPA Simplex System Overview
A CPA Simplex is a complete single-pump vacuum system rather than simply a standalone vacuum pump. It combines the vacuum pump, receiver, inlet filtration, non-return valve, isolation valve and PLC control equipment into one packaged plant.
The horizontal receiver stores vacuum capacity and helps smooth sudden changes in demand. A built-in non-return valve retains vacuum in the receiver when the pump stops, while the PLC starts and stops the pump according to the selected pressure settings.
This makes the CPA Simplex suitable for smaller factory ring mains, individual production cells, vacuum lifting systems and applications where one pump provides sufficient capacity.
DVP CPA Simplex System Range
The table below shows the standard CPA Simplex configurations. Each system combines one DVP LC oil lubricated rotary vane pump with a 100, 300 or 500 dm³ horizontal receiver and PLC control system.
Final selection should be based on required flow, operating vacuum, peak demand, receiver capacity, pipework, duty cycle and whether the application can tolerate the loss of its only pump.

How a CPA Simplex System Works
Vacuum Receiver
The horizontal receiver stores vacuum capacity and helps absorb short increases in demand from connected equipment.
PLC Pressure Control
The plant vacuum sensor communicates with the PLC, which starts and stops the pump between the programmed pressure limits.
Vacuum Retention
A built-in non-return valve helps retain vacuum inside the receiver when the pump is stopped.
Pump Protection
An FCM inlet filter with a metal bowl helps protect the pump against impurities drawn from the system.
CPA Simplex or a Standalone Vacuum Pump?
A standalone pump may be sufficient where vacuum is required directly at one machine and stored vacuum capacity is unnecessary. A CPA Simplex adds a receiver, filtration, automatic pressure control and system isolation.
Stored Vacuum
The receiver provides a reserve for short demand peaks and suitable lifting applications.
Automatic Operation
The PLC operates the pump according to receiver pressure instead of requiring continuous running.
Shared Vacuum Source
One package can supply a small ring main, production cell or several lower-demand users.
No Pump Redundancy
Because there is one pump, Duplex or Triplex should be considered where standby capacity is essential.
Can a CPA Simplex Replace One Larger Vacuum Pump?
Yes, in suitable applications. The LC pump fitted to the CPA Simplex must provide the required pumping speed and operating vacuum, just as a standalone replacement pump would.
The difference is that the CPA Simplex also provides a receiver and automatic pressure control. This can smooth intermittent demand, reduce rapid cycling and provide stored vacuum for short peaks.
The receiver does not increase the continuous pumping capacity of the pump, and the Simplex does not provide redundancy. Selection must therefore be based on the true continuous and peak demand.
Need More Capacity or Pump Redundancy?
Where a single-pump CPA Simplex does not provide sufficient capacity, or the application requires standby protection during servicing or an unexpected pump fault, consider one of the larger DVP central vacuum systems below.
DVP CPA Duplex
A two-pump central vacuum system offering nominal capacities from 50–610 m³/h, with automatic load sharing between two oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps for increased capacity and improved operational flexibility.
Consider the CPA Duplex where additional capacity or a degree of standby protection is required.
DVP CPA Triplex
A three-pump industrial central vacuum system offering nominal capacities from 75–915 m³/h, with intelligent PLC control, automatic pump management and high-capacity vacuum generation for larger factory installations.
Ideal where vacuum is production-critical and continued operation during maintenance is an important requirement.
DVP CPA Triplex H
A three-pump central medical vacuum system developed for hospital and healthcare applications in accordance with EN ISO 7396-1, offering nominal capacities from 75–915 m³/h with intelligent PLC control and continuous medical vacuum availability.
Designed for monitored medical vacuum installations requiring emergency control functions and dependable vacuum availability.

The CPA Simplex PLC controls receiver pressure and records useful information about the condition and operation of the vacuum plant.

CPA Simplex Frequently Asked Questions
What is a DVP CPA Simplex system?
It is a complete single-pump vacuum system combining a DVP LC oil lubricated rotary vane pump, horizontal receiver, inlet filtration, non-return valve, isolation valve and PLC control.
Is the CPA Simplex a central vacuum system?
Yes. It is particularly suitable for smaller centralised systems, production cells and ring mains where one pump provides enough capacity.
Can it replace a standalone larger vacuum pump?
Yes, provided the selected LC pump matches the required flow and operating vacuum. The receiver adds stored capacity and pressure control but does not increase the pump’s continuous flow.
Does the CPA Simplex provide standby redundancy?
No. It contains one vacuum pump. If that pump is unavailable, the receiver provides only a limited stored vacuum reserve.
Why use a receiver tank?
The receiver stores vacuum capacity, smooths short demand peaks and allows the PLC to operate the pump between programmed pressure limits.
Can it be used for vacuum lifting?
Yes. In suitable lifting applications, the receiver can provide a temporary vacuum reserve during a power interruption. The complete lifting system must still be correctly designed and assessed for safety.
Does Vacuum Pumps UK provide service support?
Yes. Vacuum Pumps UK can assist with system selection and technical advice, while servicing and repairs are available through our sister company VacAir Superstore.
