DVP SC5CC Overview
The DVP SC5CC is the 24V DC version of DVP’s compact dry-running rotary vane vacuum pump. It has been developed for machinery and equipment where only a low-voltage direct-current electrical supply is available.
This makes the SC5CC particularly useful for mobile and portable equipment, vehicle-mounted systems, battery-powered machinery and installations operating away from a conventional mains electricity supply.
The pump provides a nominal pumping speed of 5 m³/h and an ultimate vacuum of 150 mbar absolute. It can also produce low-pressure compressed air with a stated maximum overpressure of 0.5 bar.
Self-lubricating carbon vanes allow the pump to operate without oil inside the pumping chamber. This avoids routine oil changes and makes the SC5CC suitable for applications where clean vacuum operation is important.
The 24V DC motor is fitted with an externally accessible connector and brush holder, helping simplify electrical connection, brush inspection and routine maintenance.
Typical 24V DC Applications
The DVP SC5CC is intended for specialist applications where compact oil-free vacuum performance is required from a 24V DC power supply.
Mobile vacuum lifting equipment
Glass handling and installation systems
Stone and marble lifting machinery
Vehicle-mounted equipment
Battery-powered machinery
Environmental pollutant sampling
Portable analytical instruments
Remote monitoring equipment
Portable service and maintenance equipment
Specialist low-voltage OEM machinery
Why Choose the DVP SC5CC?
The SC5CC provides a practical solution where a conventional 230V or three-phase power supply is not available. Its 24V DC motor allows the pump to be integrated into mobile, battery-powered and vehicle-based equipment without requiring a separate mains supply.
The pump combines low-voltage operation with dry-running carbon vane technology, an inlet non-return valve, outlet silencer, FKM sealing and treated internal surfaces.
Vacuum Pumps UK can support the SC5CC with pump selection, electrical and application checks, service support, accessories, spare parts
and technical advice.
Key SC5CC Features
24V DC Operation
The low-voltage DC motor makes the SC5CC suitable for mobile machinery, battery systems, service vehicles and equipment operating away from a fixed mains supply.
Accessible Motor Brushes
The connector and motor brush holder are externally accessible, helping simplify electrical connection, brush inspection and routine motor maintenance.
Oil-Free Vacuum
Self-lubricating carbon vanes allow the pump to operate without oil inside the pumping chamber, supporting cleaner vacuum generation.
Vacuum or Pressure Duty
The SC5CC can be used for vacuum generation or as a low-pressure compressor where the flow, pressure and operating conditions are suitable.
Dry-Running Carbon Vanes
The SC5CC uses self-lubricating carbon vanes which slide within slots in the rotor and maintain contact with the internal pumping chamber.
The vanes gradually wear during normal operation and should be inspected at suitable intervals. Their working life can be influenced by operating hours, temperature, inlet contamination, filter condition, vacuum level and the number of starts and stops.
Replacing the vanes before they reach their permitted minimum length can help prevent damage to the rotor, cylinder and end plates.
Vacuum Pumps UK and our sister company, VacAir Superstore, can supply replacement carbon vanes, filters, motor brushes (for DVP 24V pumps only), gaskets and service components for the DVP SC5CC.
Vacuum Pump or Compressor Operation
The DVP SC5CC can also operate as a compact 24V DC compressor where a low-pressure supply is required.
Vacuum and pressure duties place different demands on the pump, and the required operating point should be confirmed before ordering.
Our technical team can review the required airflow, vacuum or pressure level, electrical supply and operating cycle before recommending the correct configuration.
Repair or Replace Your Existing 24V Pump?
Replacement is not always necessary. If the existing pump is fundamentally sound, fitting new carbon vanes, motor brushes, filters, seals or other service components may restore dependable operation.
Replacement may be more appropriate if the pump has suffered internal damage, the motor is unreliable, the unit repeatedly overheats, vacuum performance has deteriorated or repair costs are approaching the price of a new pump.
We can assess both the vacuum pump and the electrical requirements before recommending service, repair or replacement.
Replacement Pump Guide
Replacing a 24V DC Vacuum Pump?
The SC5CC may provide a suitable replacement where the available supply is 24V DC and the required capacity, vacuum level, motor load and physical dimensions are compatible.
Replacing a Vacuum Lifter Pump?
For glass, stone, marble and aluminium lifting equipment, we can assess the suction area, leakage rate, required holding vacuum, duty cycle and available battery supply.
Replacing a Becker or Rietschle Pump?
Where an existing Becker or Elmo Rietschle pump is installed, we can compare the vacuum performance, electrical supply, current requirement, connections and physical dimensions before advising whether the SC5CC is suitable.
Replacing Another Make?
Send us the pump make, model number or a photograph of the nameplate
together with the voltage and application details, and we will advise the nearest suitable DVP option.
Not Sure Whether the SC5CC Is Suitable?
The electrical supply is just as important as the vacuum performance when replacing a DC-powered pump.
Send us the existing pump details, supply voltage, available current, required vacuum level and a brief description of the machinery. We will review the complete installation before recommending a replacement.
