DVP SB10TV Overview
The DVP SB10TV is a compact industrial oil-free vacuum pump built around a monoblock direct-drive arrangement. The rotor is mounted directly on the motor shaft, helping reduce the overall size, weight and number of drive components.
The pump is manufactured mainly from lightweight alloy and is intended for installations where space is restricted but sufficient ventilation is available.
Cooling is provided by the motor fan, so the pump should be installed with adequate space around it for cooling airflow.
The SB10TV differs from the standard SB10 through the use of special gaskets that provide a particularly airtight construction. This allows the pump to be used within appropriately designed sealed-circuit systems.
A protective filter is fitted at the inlet as standard. Unlike the standard SB10 and SB12 versions, the SB10TV is not listed with the standard outlet silencer.
The pump provides a nominal capacity of 10 m³/h at 50Hz and 12 m³/h at 60Hz, with an ultimate vacuum of 120 mbar absolute.
Typical SB10TV Applications
The SB10TV is suited to compact machinery requiring oil-free vacuum and may be particularly useful where the process incorporates a sealed air circuit.
Food and beverage machinery
Packaging equipment
Plastic, rubber and resin processing
Analytical equipment
Pollutant sampling and analysis
Printing and paper machinery
Screen-printing equipment
Woodworking presses
Vacuum lifting equipment
Construction-industry equipment
Designed for Sealed-Circuit Applications
The defining feature of the SB10TV is its specially sealed construction. Special gaskets are used to provide a high level of air tightness through the pump.
This configuration allows the SB10TV to be considered for equipment with a sealed air circuit where uncontrolled internal leakage through the pump would be undesirable.
The suitability of any pump for a sealed circuit depends on the system arrangement, operating vacuum, temperature, gas composition and required leakage rate.
Vacuum Pumps UK can review the application before confirming whether the SB10TV is the correct configuration.
Key SB10TV Features
Compact Oil-Free Vacuum
The SB10TV provides up to 10 m³/h at 50Hz without introducing lubricating oil into the pumping chamber.
Lightweight Construction
The pump is manufactured mainly from lightweight alloy, helping reduce its overall weight for installation within compact machinery.
Direct-Drive Monoblock Design
The rotor is mounted directly on the motor shaft, reducing the need for separate belts, couplings or transmission components.
Special Airtight Construction
Special gaskets provide the additional air tightness required for suitable sealed-circuit applications.
Choosing Between the SB10, SB10TV and SB12
The SB10, SB10TV and SB12 share the same compact monoblock design principle and lightweight alloy construction, but they are intended for slightly different requirements.
The SB10 and SB10TV both provide 10 m³/h at 50Hz and 12 m³/h at 60Hz. The SB12 increases nominal capacity to 12 m³/h at 50Hz and 14 m³/h at 60Hz.
The SB10TV should be selected where its specially sealed configuration is required. The standard SB10 and SB12 may also operate as compressors up to 0.6 bar, whereas the SB10TV is presented specifically as the airtight sealed-circuit vacuum version.
We can review the airflow, vacuum, pressure, circuit arrangement and available space before recommending the most appropriate model.
Cooling and Installation
The SB10TV is cooled by the motor fan rather than a separate pump-mounted cooling fan.
Although the pump is suitable for installation in restricted spaces, adequate ventilation must be maintained around the motor and pump body.
Restricted cooling airflow may cause the pump to operate at an increased temperature, which can shorten vane life and reduce reliability.
The installation should also allow sufficient access for filter inspection, vane maintenance and electrical servicing.
Carbon Vanes and Planned Maintenance
The SB10TV uses self-lubricating carbon vanes to create the moving pumping chambers required for dry-running vacuum generation.
Because the vanes remain in contact with the internal bore, they gradually shorten during operation. Inspection intervals should reflect the running hours, inlet cleanliness, temperature, operating vacuum and duty cycle.
Timely vane replacement helps reduce the risk of a worn or broken vane damaging the rotor, cylinder or end plates.
Vacuum Pumps UK and our sister company, VacAir Superstore, can provide carbon vanes, filters, seals, gaskets and service parts for the DVP SB10TV.
Should You Repair or Replace the Existing Pump?
A compact dry-running pump that has gradually lost performance may only require new vanes, filtration, seals or workshop attention rather than complete replacement.
For an SB10TV, the condition of the special sealing arrangement is also important. Air leakage through aged or damaged gaskets may affect both vacuum performance and sealed-circuit operation.
Replacement becomes more attractive where breakdowns are recurring, the pump runs excessively hot, capacity has fallen or internal damage has made repair uneconomical.
We can assess both options and help you decide whether servicing, overhaul or a new SB10TV offers the better long-term result.
Replacement Pump Guide
Replacing a 10 m³/h Oil-Free Pump?
The SB10TV is intended for compact applications requiring approximately 10 m³/h of oil-free pumping capacity at 50Hz.
Is the Circuit Sealed?
The SB10TV should be considered where the existing machine uses a sealed circuit and requires the additional air tightness provided by the TV configuration.
Check the Available Space
The compact monoblock construction is useful where installation space is restricted, although adequate cooling airflow around the motor must be maintained.
Check the Full Specification
We can compare the operating vacuum, airflow, motor, electrical supply, inlet connection, mounting arrangement and required leakage performance before confirming the replacement.
Need Help Identifying the Correct Replacement?
The SB10TV has a more specialised sealed construction than many standard compact dry-running vacuum pumps.
